Samsung Says ' No' To India.

(Courtesy: bgr.in)
Samsung has been in the news and twitter trends for the launch of the Galaxy SIII which is scheduled today at 7pm in London. But the Korean phone-maker has dis-heartened its Indian fans and users with one of its tweet replies. Through which it says that there would be no launch of the Galaxy Nexus in India..!!

An Indian fan asked Samsung India about the launch of the Galaxy Nexus in India, "The Galaxy Nexus will not be launched in India. Watch this space for the next big thing!", is what he got in return. Now, this is disturbing, isn't it?.  It is more disturbing that Samsung India had earlier tweeted about a January launch, then it got delayed till March and now suddenly company says no we won’t release it at all..!! Samsung, be a man of your words tweets!!

The Galaxy Nexus was launched in Hong Kong in October last year. Since then, the smartphone has been launched in several markets across including US, UK, Singapore, Japan and Korea. The Galaxy Nexus comes with a Super AMOLED high definition (HD) touchscreen display (1280×720 pixel resolution) , Google's Android 4.0 (ICS) , a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A9 based processor. The device has 1GB of RAM and in terms of internal memory; you can have a choice of 16GB and a 32GB models.

Tech Specs of the Galaxy Nexus:

  • Android 4.0 (ICS)
  • 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A9 based processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB and a 32GB Internal memory
  • 5 megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash
  • 1.3 megapixel front facing camera
  • Near Field Communication (NFC)
  • WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0

Even though India has been a large market for various products and services, Samsung still chooses to abort the launch. This will definitely affect the sales graph of the Nexus as Samsung and Android have fairly large number of fans and users in India. I would term this as a "costly mistake" by Samsung.
