Buttery And Sweet 'Jelly Bean'

In the 1910s and early 1920s a "Jellybean" or "Jelly-Bean" was a young man who dressed stylishly to attract women. In the sweets, jelly beans are much sweeter than ice cream sandwiches, however in the Android world the sweetness is directly proportional to the updates.

The update to the Android operating system always promises new stuff, faster and elegant interface. The Jelly Bean (Android 4.1), if we count it on our fingers has 25 improvements over the IceCream Sandwich. The most appealing update is the Google Now and the Buttery graphics and interface. Interestingly, Google has not given its voice recongnation system a name like Siri or S-voice! it prefers to call it simply Google.

The other major upgrades include; Expandable notifications, magical widgets, seamless sharing of photographs, a smarter keyboard, Android Beam and previously mentioned Google Now, Voice search/recognition and the faster, smoother buttery interface.

Improvements in Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean):

Voice Actions:
Another voice assistant, smarter than Siri. All you have to do is say “Google” or press touch the icon given on the home screen to activate it It will show a card or web search results. It gives instant results and understands human tongue better than any other voice assistant

Expanded Notifications:
The notification bar is well organized in the jelly bean. The developers have been given the access of using the notification center making the interface better and easier to use. Gesture controls have been optimized to expand the notifications on the bar.

Faster and smoother interface:
With buttery graphics and silky transitions. Everything feel fast, fluid, and smooth. Moving between home screens and switching between apps is effortless . More reactive and uniform touch responses it makes your Android device even more responsive by boosting your device’s CPU instantly when you touch the screen, and turns it down when you don’t need it to improve battery life.

Re-sizable Widgets
The widgets are smarter and arrange themselves comfortably. No longer shuffling needed on the home-screen widgets.

Better Keyboard:
Android’s dictionaries are now more accurate, more relevant. The language model in Jelly Bean adapts over time, and the keyboard even guesses what the next word will be before you’ve started typing it.

Google Now

This is the most interesting update. It combines data from your activity and various Google services to deliver custom info cards catered to your usage. It would give you traffic updates as soon as you step out of your door. You would have the reviews on your palm of the restaurant in which you have just entered.

Devices With Jelly Bean
The first devices to get updates to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Xoom and Nexus S smartphones, expected to be released in July.
